Weddings
Moot House is a one stop wedding venue for your special day. Our rooms and halls are suited to a small intimate weddings. Set in a attractive 19th century house built circa 1840 this grade two listed building offers you a peaceful for your day. The premises have been approved by Essex County Council as a venue for Community Weddings, Civil marriages, Civil Partnerships and Civil Ceremonies.
COmmunity Weddings
THE LEN WHITE ROOM
The Len White room is a room named after a known Councillor for the local area. This room is a small but intimate room for weddings. Dedicated to community weddings which can up up to a maximum of 24 guest. Decorated in a magnolia colour with a floral display. This room has use of a music centre and Bluetooth sound bar.
Due to COVID and social distancing this room will now only hold 10 guests. Your two witnesses, photographer, bridesmaids etc, are included within the 10 people.
Community weddings are charged at the following rate:
Monday to Thursday 10AM – 4PM – £200
Friday 10AM – 4PM – £280
Saturday 10AM – 12PM – £350
£11 for the certificate, to be paid in addition to the above prices
Approved Wedding Rooms
SEWELL HARRIS ROOM
The Sewell Harris room is named after the first warden who started in 1952. Located on the first floor, this room is decorated in pale blue colour. This room has access to a chair lift for disabled guest access. As well as access to a hearing loop. This room can hold a maximum of 58 guests.
Due to COVID and social distancing this room will now only hold 26 guests. Your two witnesses, photographer, bridesmaids etc are included within the 26 people.
NEW HALL
New hall is a new but beautiful hall built with mellow bricks to compliment the timbered vaulted rood. This hall can take up to 78 guests. It is located on the ground floor with disable access
Due to COVID and social distancing this room will now only hold 26 guests. Your two witnesses, photographer, bridesmaids etc are included within the 26 people.
